This account of our family history is arranged around eight family names: the eight great grandparents of three Burgess brothers. The tree below shows how they are related and the counties where their families originated. The connection to a particular part of the United Kingdom is rather loose in some instances, but at least it serves to distinguish between branches when a name is repeated: the Dicksons from Scotland and Northern Ireland or the two unconnected Burgess families.
